Run Cares Program: MUST Ministries Brown Bag Lunch Build

As a group, we participate in a few volunteer activities or outings per quarter, which are found and chosen by the employees.

This quarter, we’ve sponsored and attended the Kauffman Tire Spring Baseball Classic for Kids, provided dinner for 45 youth at the Covenant House of Georgia and last week, built 260 ham and cheese sandwiches and lunch bags for hungry children in the Atlanta area through MUST Ministries. See the photos below for what we did for the sandwich build and how we did it.

Outside the break room, company employees (and some of their children) assemble the lunch bags, each with a salty snack (cheese crackers), a sweet snack (chocolate chip granola bars) and a juice box.

Then we packed the completed sandwiches, brown bags and several bags of fresh fruit into our cars and delivered them to the drop-off site in Roswell, Ga., where they were sorted and distributed to hungry children in the area the next day at lunch time. We built 260 sandwiches and lunch bags this year – 60 more than last year, and we hope to do this project next summer, too.

Through our Cares Program, comprised of individual and group volunteer activities, our company supports organizations located in the communities where our employees work and causes that focus on children, education or health and human service. We established the Cares Program to promote the humanity of employees, foster teamwork and help community members live better, healthier lives through volunteerism and charitable giving.
